中新社北京7月8日電 中國官方8日通報，湖北省政協原黨組成員、副主席周先旺涉嫌嚴重違紀違法，目前正接受中央紀委國家監委紀律審查和監察調查。
公開資料顯示，周先旺，土家族，湖北建始人，中央黨校大學學歷，1987年1月加入中國共產黨，1980年12月參加工作。他曾任湖北省黃石市委書記、市人大常委會主任，湖北省副省長、黨組成員，武漢市委副書記、市長等職。2021年1月，他出任湖北省政協副主席、黨組成員，2023年1月卸任。（完）
